recent recap and upcoming stuff...
this past wednesday(7/23) we had a terrible rehearsal. after that, we played a gig at the harvest moon. it was a total 180 turn from rehearsal. i love when that happens.
thursday(7/24) bobby and i attended the mastering session for what is now the former "super analog e.p."... we couldn't fit all three songs that we wanted to fit, so the record is now a single. i can say that if the final product sounds anywhere near as good as the acetate it is going to sound pretty damn good... i am excited.
tonight, i played at danny adlerman's open mike. as usual, once i got going, it went pretty well. it's always the getting up and doing it that is difficult. that and forgetting the title of almost every song i have ever written... what a pain.
next gig is on august 2nd at the brighton bar in long branch w/ the ribeye bros., and mondo topless. i hope we wipe the stage with all of them, in a friendly way.
see you soon.

It's 1:30am.

Twelve hours later and we're still mixing..... almost done. It's sounding FAB!
In the meantime - I've learned the art of conjuring magical spheres.

Love,
Bobby

Back in the House of Vibes
It 4pm - and Dave is in Studio B cutting a Hammond organ track and putting the finishing touches on "Gardening Man".
At 7pm - Peter will be here to finish "Love Bomb".
Then we will go out behind the studio and give a sacrifice to Satan.
Oh - wait - we don't need to give a sacrifice.
The good people @ The Sinclair Recording Company will be putting this out. You may remember them - as they put out our first CD - "Coloursound".
We will continue to record when time and money allow (and when The Smithereens aren't re-recording another Beatles album) - an we are hoping to have a full-length completed by Early 2009.
We'll be at The Harvest Moon on July 23rd. They have good beer. We'll be playing w/ Meet Me in Montauk. There will be good music. What more can we do to make you happy?
Send your song requests... or other requests on what we can do to make you happy to happiness@theandersoncouncil.com - and we'll see what we can do to accomodate.

BIFF! BANG! POW!
Had a power outage today around 5:30pm. node0 - the PIII 1ghz computer that has been hosting this website for oh so many years - did not come up after the crash caused by the power outage.
I scrambled to move the website over to my other web server. It'll stay here for a while.
2am now... time for bed. Big show tomorrow night in Asbury Park.
gnite...

Hub City Summertime.
Ah - the summer is upon us. With Rutgers graduation over - most of the students have gone home for the summer - thus much less traffic and more parking around town. The hot weather brings that wonder 'smell' of the raritan river and God knows what else thru the sweaty city streets.
And The Anderson Council continue recording and negotiating terms for an album release.
As it stands now - we're planning on an EP in the late summer/early fall - and with any luck - we'll have an album out in the winter.
In the meantime - we'll be doing a few shows.
June 27th we'll be returning to Asbury Lanes (if it's still standing) to unleash a barrage of rocknroll w/ The Beat Rats (garage rock from Philly) and the anabolics (shiny hot pants from Brooklyn).
July we will be taking a month off to charge our batteries. Bobby will be doing home improvements or be at the beach drinking beer. Joe will be slinging drinks at the Court Tavern *and* The Stone Pony and will be drinking furiously to make up for giving up beer for Lent. Dave and Pete will be traveling to exotic places seeking enlightenment and more Traynor amplifiers.
August 2nd brings us to The Brighton Bar in Long Branch for the 2008 Garage ROMP!
and to end the summer - August 21st we were asked by the wonderful Boro of Metuchen to play their outdoor summer concert series. It's free - all ages and you get two sets from us!
In the meantime we're trying to get back into the House of Vibes to do more recording but so are The Smithereens, The Grip Weeds, and Danny Adlerman. We all seem to have deadlines around the same time - which is causing Kurt Reil much stress.
For all of you Pepsi drinkers - you can cash in your Pepsi drink points on Amazon.com and get our mp3's for FREE!

Stay cool this summer!
